HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED IF GOD KNOWS YOU, IF HE CARES WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH?
PAPER AIRPLANES
As president of the local women's organization at my church, I called meetings often to discuss the needs of our group. I prepared agendas and assigned topics. We stuck to an efficient schedule. My young son knew that when mommy had a meeting, he shouldn't bombard us with requests to build train tracks or color pictures. During one meeting, in the middle of our discussion, little paper airplanes floated down the stairs and landed on the floor. We chuckled for a minute. Like any other focused leader, I ignored their "distraction."
We checked off every item on our lists and delegated tasks for the rest of the week. I jotted down notes for myself and the names of people to contact.
It wasn't until later that I picked up the airplanes at the bottom of the stairs. I read my five-year-old's scrawl:
MOM, I need you A LOT. Please come NOW
MOM, I love you.
I miss you
